About Us
Our apprenticeship program, established in 1974, is officially known as the Palm Beach County Plumbing, Air Conditioning and Pipefitting Joint Apprenticeship and Journeyman Training Committee. Quite a mouthful, we admit! Now, our program is simply called Pipe U, and we want you to know why it's a cool route to a career in these trades and a great alternative to college.

Pipe U is The Palm Beach County Plumbing, Air Conditioning and Pipefitting Apprentice Program sponsored by U.A. Local 630 and participating businesses.

PIPE U, THE BASICS AND BEYOND.
An apprenticeship at Pipe U is a 60-month (5-year) program that combines on-the-job training of 40 hours per week with two nights of school per week. You'll accumulate a total of 216 hours of school each year and, upon completion, earn 1/2 of the credits required for an Associate's degree. And best of all, receive free tuition.

Thanks to a building boom, there's a chronic shortage of people skilled in plumbing, air conditioning and pipefitting. Pipe U is designed to meet the need for these skilled tradesmen.
